Game 049 [Written/Voice]

[ Sometime in the early afternoon, the following question goes out over the journals. The camera is covered, and the handwriting is disguised. ]

Let's have a thought experiment. Say you were dying, and the only possible way to save yourself is to get help from someone very close to you. However, you don't know for sure that this help will indeed save you, and whether or not it does, there's a chance that it will damage the one helping you. Trying to help you might even kill them.

Do you ask for their help anyway? Would you accept their help if they offered it?

[ Later on in the evening, Joshua makes a separate post from the previous, this one voiced and not anonymous. ]

[ Filtered to Neku, 100% ]

Hey Neku, are you busy tomorrow?

[She has never met someone as good with words as herself before. Good going, Joshua.]

My, you have a way of twisting words, don't you? Very well. I'll concede I might be selfish, although rightfully so. Is there a reason you were asking such ridiculous questions?

I see. And what were the other responses given? I'm sure not all of them were as selfish as mine, as you put it.

[Then excuse the lengthy pause as she reads through them herself.]

What sentimental fools. [How to put it in a way goody two shoes will understand, if they read?] I believe it is better to be selfish in manners of life or death. If someone is willing to give their life to help you, then you should take it. It will benefit society at large, and only one person will be hurt by it. I believe this is "the needs of the many over the needs of the few". Your original question also held the chance of it not working, though... I suppose that is reason enough to pause.

People should value themselves highly.

Is this the same someone who would give up their life to save me, or a different one?

If they were a different one, then by all means they are allowed to think of themselves as highly as they wish, truth or not. If the same, then no, they should not, as they're giving their life for me.
