Game 017 [Action] - Discovery

[ Those of you inside or near Kat's Kradle might notice Joshua head inside and up the stairs.

Several minutes pass, and then he suddenly storms down and out the door. He's heading straight towards Community Housing 5. Feel free to intercept him along the way, but be warned: he looks pissed. ]

(( ooc: Thread with Hanekoma occurs during the several-minute gap ))

[ Don't mind Hanekoma, he's just in the studio, mapping out a mural on the wall. ]

[ Most of those papers Josh is shuffling through are sketches and designs, a few of which Hanekoma would really love to reference right now; he steps away from his work for a minute and heads for his room, hands slung in his pockets. The wings on his back are still faintly stained.

He swings the door open and steps inside, only to find... oh, hello, just what are you doing here? ]

Josh?

[ Hanekoma's confused for all of a second, until he glances from Joshua to the open drawer -- and he freezes. That drawer. That drawer. It's... But no, there's no way he found the folder, and if he did there's no way he found that one Report, any one of them could make Joshua go quiet like this, he could be reading any one of them-- ]

What're you goin' through my stuff for? Those are for Our eyes only, thanks.

[ And he moves forward too sharply, makes a move to snatch it out of Joshua's hand. ]

[ Hanekoma freezes again, something cold and heavy settling in the pit of his stomach. Joshua has never looked at him like that. Ever. He knows exactly what it means but he's trying to deny it to himself, and it stirs up agitation enough to come through in his voice: ]

...give it, Joshua.

[ Sanae advances on him, a hand outstretched. ]

[identity profile] nattocat.livejournal.com 2010-03-10 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
[ He stops, honestly stung, and just stares at Joshua from where he stands. There's a deadly pause. That hand drops back to his side and clenches into a fist, nails digging into his palms. ]

...you read all of it?

[ He takes a step back, half to reassure Joshua that there's no threat, and half to put some distance between himself and that glare. He considers lying but there's no plausible excuse. He considers Imprinting but can't quite bring himself to do it. ]

It was you or Shibuya.

[ Hanekoma stands his ground, but the shout makes him go tense and a little cold. He's bracing himself. ]

The city had to be saved.

[ He doesn't move. ]

I did my job.

[ Hanekoma moves instantly to block the door. He can't let it end here. This isn't how it was supposed to play out. He wasn't ready to play his hand yet, not here in Luceti, not when back home he'd had a plan-- ]

Joshua.

[ He hesitates, knowing full well that trapping Joshua here will end badly, but finding it so hard to just let him go. The silence drags on a moment longer, and then Hanekoma steps carefully out of the way. ]

[ He says nothing in return, just watches Joshua go with a deep too-calm sadness. When he hears footsteps down the stairs, Hanekoma moves slowly for the piece of paper on the floor and picks it up, letting his eyes wander over the words.

...thus, I've deemed it necessary to cross the boundaries Angels usually respect. I happily accept the stigma of Fallen Angel for this cause...

He crumples the thing abruptly and throws it, casts it away to some corner of the room. And then he stands in the quiet and stares out after Joshua, silent. ]
