Game 056 [Voice]
New Feather season.
[ Joshua gives a frustrated sigh, and there's the sound of sipping as he takes a drink from a cup of coffee. Dammit, Hanekoma, your nervous habits have finally worn off on him two years after the fact. ]
If any of you were wondering, I've been gone for at least a week and a half. And if anyone cares to give me a date, I can give you a more precise duration than that.
[ Not that Joshua is too terribly fond of being in the village, but at least talking to people is good for taking his mind off of things. Being held captive by his lonesome gives him a little too much time to think, and being poked and prodded is almost preferable. As long as things never get as bad as they did his first kidnapping. He'd take a month of solitary confinement over that. ]
They tend to give us an experiment right before the New Feathers come, don't they? Cause or effect, which do you think? [ He takes another sip of coffee. ] And while I'm asking, what did I miss this time?

Re: [ voice ]
Would it? I've seen some things stay behind when people leave and others not. Do they choose what gets sent with us - or erased from Luceti on our departure when we're no longer useful?

Re: [ voice ]
Well, then some parts of us stay behind, speak of our presence here. And of course those that remember us. But don't you think it's weird they basically try and erase all other evidence of us ever having been here? Like this whole thing wasn't shady enough.

Re: [ voice ]
Maybe, in which case... this just gets creepier. Guh.

Re: [ voice ]
You don't think it's creepy they seem to try really, really hard to get rid of every trace of our existence when they're done with us? Just a little?
[ voice ]
[ And Josh did similar back home. If you need people out of a world and you have the power, there's ways to arrange that. ]
Re: [ voice ]
Even if it's not, it's still creepy to me - to much like playing God or something.

Re: [ voice ]
People shouldn't play with people like that. It's not right.

Re: [ voice ]
Personally? Yes. I don't like the idea of anyone moving me across a chess board. Let me make my own decisions and go from there.

Re: [ voice ]
Yeah, sure I have. It doesn't mean I respond well to authority.
[ It was so very true, it really was. But that's probably why he was happiest out in the stars, where it was his decisions, and no waiting on red tape to clear. ]

Re: [ voice ]
Fair, but can you honestly say you like the idea of it? Of knowing someone else is pulling your strings?
[ voice ]
Re: [ voice ]
So, that long conversation we just had basically comes down to we both feel the same about having our strings pulled.

Re: [ voice ]
Well if we hated it for the same reasons, I might feel like less of an individual.
