Game 056 [Voice]
New Feather season.
[ Joshua gives a frustrated sigh, and there's the sound of sipping as he takes a drink from a cup of coffee. Dammit, Hanekoma, your nervous habits have finally worn off on him two years after the fact. ]
If any of you were wondering, I've been gone for at least a week and a half. And if anyone cares to give me a date, I can give you a more precise duration than that.
[ Not that Joshua is too terribly fond of being in the village, but at least talking to people is good for taking his mind off of things. Being held captive by his lonesome gives him a little too much time to think, and being poked and prodded is almost preferable. As long as things never get as bad as they did his first kidnapping. He'd take a month of solitary confinement over that. ]
They tend to give us an experiment right before the New Feathers come, don't they? Cause or effect, which do you think? [ He takes another sip of coffee. ] And while I'm asking, what did I miss this time?

[ That might even be what happened to Minamimoto. Too much time spent by himself. ]
Re: [ voice ]
That's why solitary confinement was one of the worst punishments a man could get - still is. I guess it might not be so bad if you have a few voices in your head.

Re: [ voice ]
I think it's more common than people like to admit. I heard once that talking to yourself was a sign of genius, but I guess that might get negated if it's more than one voice talking back at you.

Re: [ voice ]
I probably heard it on the internet, because frankly I can't remember who said it.

Re: [ voice ]
Heh, probably, but heaving a healthy conversation in your head can be helpful. I mean, haven't you ever talked to yourself to work out a problem before? It's just thinking aloud.

Re: [ voice ]
Well, to each their own.
At least you're back, which I guess is comforting somehow.
[ voice ]
Better the larger cage than the tiny cell, after all.
Re: [ voice ]
I hear you there. I was kidnapped once and I think at times I was sure I was being stuffed into a secret compartment or something for all the room I got.
[ voice ]
[ Sigh. ]
Sometimes I think this place would be almost tolerable if not for that.
[ ... But only rarely. ]
Re: [ voice ]
I'm quietly waiting for the next go around. It makes me wonder if I should be writing out a will and testament, you know?

Re: [ voice ]
Don't you? I want to go home. I miss the Enterprise, my crew.

Re: [ voice ]
Would it? I've seen some things stay behind when people leave and others not. Do they choose what gets sent with us - or erased from Luceti on our departure when we're no longer useful?
[ voice ]
Re: [ voice ]
Well, then some parts of us stay behind, speak of our presence here. And of course those that remember us. But don't you think it's weird they basically try and erase all other evidence of us ever having been here? Like this whole thing wasn't shady enough.

Re: [ voice ]
Maybe, in which case... this just gets creepier. Guh.
[ voice ]
Re: [ voice ]
You don't think it's creepy they seem to try really, really hard to get rid of every trace of our existence when they're done with us? Just a little?
[ voice ]
[ And Josh did similar back home. If you need people out of a world and you have the power, there's ways to arrange that. ]
